El Jannah is Perfect for All Shabebs

A 'shabeb', translated to English, is a group. In my opinion, El Jannah is the ideal chicken place for people from all walks of life, backgrounds and cultural palettes. 

El Jannah's consistently amazing food and fantastic customer service (which they have retained since their establishment in 1998) aren't the only draws. Its fair prices, providing of indoor and outdoor options to dine in to their fantastic chicken and general aesthetic, appeal to the eye of anyone who steps in to their restaurants. 

El Jannah suits the modern Western Sydney, fast-paced and thriving with multiculturalism. It provides a spiritual break, creating moments where you forget your troubles, work or diet and revel in the food. It appeals to different types of people; families, couples, students and Western Sydney Wanderers fans (such as myself) looking for the ideal feed on a game day. All are beyond satisfied when tucking in to El Jannah.

Awafi - The mother of all Charcoal Chicken Eateries

Who started the charcoal chicken craze? It was the holy grail of all charcoal chicken shops, Awafi. In 1998, 2 couples opened a charcoal chicken shop in Grandville. Simon and Samira Azzi established a franchise alongside another couple, Andre and Carole Estephan, called Awafi. The charcoal chicken craze was establsihed in the homes of many Lebanese Australians, however never to be heard of in restaurants and eateries. These couples saw an opportunity that has led to multiple successful shops in the western Sydney region. As business started to pick up, the Estephans left the business and started their own franchise now known as El Jannah. Sad to end on a Negative Note

Over the past couple of weeks Maroun, Matthew and I have been blogging about the supposed three best Charcoal Chicken Eateries in Western Syndey being La Mono, Awafi and El Jannah. I too have been reading these blogs and decided it was time for me to swallow my pride and make the long, treacherous and dangerous journey to El Jannah. I was promised by Matthew of creamy toum, moist chicken, fresh tabouli, crunchy and crisp chips and most of all fantastic customer service. But how wrong was I. The chicken was so burnt that i might as well have been eating pieces of Charcoal, the toum lacked the kick of 'garlic' which it is supposed to be made out of, the tabouli was dry and tasted as if it was made a week ago and the chips were cold and over salted. However the one saving grace was the pickles, it was sour, salty and had a great crunch to it. These were the best pickles Ive ever eaten.
